I don’t really think it is inconsistent, I just think that Caroline and Elena were not poisoned long enough.  We see them only a few hours into them being infected with the werewolf venom.

Rose was bitten the previous night during the full moon and lasted almost a day and a half.  She a had a significant amount of more time to be infected than Caroline and Elena did.  I’m sure if the girls were left longer they would have become rabid as Rose.  Elena was already hallucinating and I believe that Caroline might have exaggerated how sick she was to manipulate Klaus.  *Shrugs* I don’t know though.  It doesn’t bother me too much.

I am from South Texas born and raised.  The Mexican influence here is huge and yet there are still some people who are so bigoted that it is just sad and frustrating.  

Even as a freshman in HS, I saw two other kids my age screaming at each other over the origin of my hometown’s name (which is of Mexican influence - MexicanWord-ville) as we waited for our bus to go home.  The boy, who was white, was telling a Mexican girl that she was wrong because our town was founded by Germans and “you Mexicans ruined it.”  He then said he wished all of us would just walk home like the rest of the Mexican kids so he didn’t have to ride the bus and sit next to so many of us.  His older brother actually had to pull him away from the girl who was trying to make her point and all the boy she was arguing with did was roll his eyes and put his hand in her face.  She was getting so angry that he wouldn’t listen to her she was shaking. 

It was something that always stayed with me and I always looked at that boy differently from then on.  

I don’t understand why is it so hard for people to accept different cultures in this country.

I know a lot of people don’t really register that it’s kind of icky to put a gifset like that together.  That they are just showing the times the Originals have “punished” Elena and since the person who made it is probably not a huge Elena fan they think it’s no biggie.  

Whether you like Elena or not, it doesn’t mean that it’s okay for her to be smacked around.  Especially since most of the time, Elena was human.  Regular vamps are pretty powerless to defend themselves against thousand year old Originals, much less a human.  

Is it out of character for the Originals, no.  They don’t care, and they get a kick out of abusing their power and strength, especially against someone as weak as a human.  

It is a vampire show and we are going to see some violence, gratuitous and not.  It does come down to an abuse of power when a vampire attacks a human.  Because there is no way a human can overpower a vampire.  

I like gratuitous violence as much as the next person, but when you have characters who continuously use that power to victimize other characters over and over again and the fandom dismisses it because they are vampires, it becomes little harder to swallow.  Because it becomes less about a vampire victimizing a human and a character abusing another.  It shouldn’t be, “Oh, he/she is a vampire so it’s okay,” and we should take into account that these characters are people and not just vampires.  Especially when victims are chosen by how they look and not just a source of food because it adds to the thrill of the hunt/kill just like serial killer chooses a specific victim to do the same thing.  

Now, we just need to see Caroline actually putting Tyler first.  

Caroline has tunnel vision when it comes to Stefan and that is problematic in itself without Tyler being a factor.  But now you have Tyler reeling from the very devastating loss of his mother, so I would hope that Caroline can be supportive of Tyler now more than she has been recently.  

I do think something drastic needs to happen to open Caroline’s eyes about Stefan.  She needs to realize that Stefan’s reasons and priorities are not her’s.  Now Stefan is seeking the cure out of spite as opposed to wanting to humanize Elena and break the sire bond to Damon (and honestly it’s because it is what HE wants; Stefan rather love human!Elena because he was in love with the idea of Elena as the perfect girlfriend).  

Caroline has prioritized Stefan over Tyler in the past and I think that Caroline has realized that because of Tyler’s suffering.  I don’t believe it has changed how Caroline sees Stefan or her hero worship of him, but I think now she will try to actively put Tyler first as he does with her.  

Caroline loves Tyler and because of the ruse and the lack of communication between them, she loss some of the confidence she once had in herself and her place in Tyler’s life, when all Tyler wanted was her support.  By him vocalizing that in 4x09 she went right back to being bossy and putting her foot down with him and found a way to take out Klaus and keep Tyler safe as well.  That’s the Caroline Tyler has become accustomed to and loves; because once he realized she was on his side…

Stefan has always been an issue within Tyler and Caroline’s relationship, only now it has become serious enough for there to be some awesome organic conflict this season.  Because it is so complicated and Caroline is stuck in the middle with being loyal to her friend and also to her boyfriend, two important people in her life who are not fans of each other.  Tyler and Stefan tolerate one another because they have Caroline in common.  Tyler doesn’t challenge Caroline’s view of Stefan, but has been more open about his view of Stefan by calling Stefan out on his BS.  

So I’m very interested in this triangle between Tyler, Caroline and Stefan.  Where it will go, what will happen and how will it resolve itself if it does resolve.  Will Caroline have to make a choice? Will she finally see that Stefan isn’t the hero she idealizes him to be? Or will she continue to over idealize Stefan and her relationship with Tyler suffer because of it?    

So I think this could lead to some great stuff for the Tyler and Caroline arc, but that all depends on the writers and if they are willing to capitalize on it.  

I can’t help Manvir! I am forever puzzled by the need for these gorgeous men and women to wear something stupid like clothes.  I. Don’t. Understand.

Oh Anon, I can’t with this message. *Hugs tight* I’m super happy that my blog can do that for you.  I am just loyal to a fault and once I believe in something I’m going to stand by it until I’m given a good reason not too.  I will support Tyler and Caroline for as long as I need too and will probably do so after the show is over.  I have fallen so completely in love with these two characters and their relationship that they have ruined me lol.  I will ever ship another pairing as hard as I have with these two.

I wanted to be a lawyer when I was a kid! But I’m forever socially awkward, stumble over my words in public presentations/speeches and ramble incoherently lol.  Speech class in HS was so stressful lol, but I did get a round of applause on my speech on violence in schools.  That boosted my confidence a lot, but I’m just so awkward and shy I still have that crippling anxiety anytime I have to talk in front of large groups of people lol.
